On this first day of the Easter weekend (and last day of those resolutions), I thought it might be worth taking a moment to give ourselves a break (not from those resolutions, you're nearly there). But I know we still have a day to go until the big day, so I don't want to make it too fun.
If only someone out there had made a video about the value of respect and manners (treating others how you would like to be treated) that was both appropriate for all ages and featured characters from both a beloved children's show and a critically acclaimed HBO drama series (which premieres the second episode of its final season tomorrow night). That sounds like fun (with a moral) that we can all get behind to me. #RespectBringsUsTogether
Fun, right?
And what a timely message for all ages (and sides of the political aisle). We won't always get along, but when we resort to name-calling, trash-talking, or simply shut those we don't agree with out, no one wins.
That's true on Sesame Street (even Oscar would agree), in Westeros (there are no one winners in the Game of Thrones), and in our own world.
So, as many prepare for tomorrow's holiday, I hope we all remember the value of respect and put it into practice every day. (And well played, Sesame Street, as always.)
...bi-daily smile...
