In addition to the fact that I just love Burberry, I am a huge fan of Christopher Bailey, the Chief Creating Officer, which in layman’s terms translates to him being the chief designer. He is responsible for the look of Burberry, from advertising to the design of all product lines. And he is a huge music fan. The Burberry shows and campaigns have featured new British talent like Tom Odell (who played at the Burberry Prorsum Womensswear A/W’13 show) and there’s even a Burberry Acoustic section on the company’s official website showcasing new emerging bands. Christopher Bailey supports new talent across the board, all British, of course. He also hires new emerging models (Cara Delevingne’s big break was a Burberry campaign) and hot young actors, Emma Watson and Douglas Booth are just few of the gorgeous faces who have modelled for Burberry in the past. The new Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer’14 campaign features Leo Dobson, an indie rocker from the band “Childhood” (second from right in the photo above) and another emerging British superstar, actor Jamie Campbell Bower (in the middle) who’s been in Harry Potter, The Twilight movies and now fronts The Mortal Instruments movie franchise as Jace, the sexy Shadowhunter. The romantic campaign called Artists and Roses takes inspiration from English gardens and is shot by Mario Testino.
