It also means that in between holiday parties and family gatherings is the perfect time to catch up on those shows you’ve been meaning to watch. If you’re not sure where to begin, this week’s Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards’ nominees are a good place to start. The comedy category is made up almost entirely of repeat nominees, the drama category has a lot of new comers who are worth checking out.
While I can’t speak to all of the nominated shows, there are two standouts that I would highly recommend considering for your winter hibernation binge-fest.
First up for your consideration is Netflix series “The Crown.” You might know it as the most expensive show that Netflix has produced to date. However, it’s also worth watching, if for no other reason than John Lithgow’s amazing performance as Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Claire Foy, as Queen Elizabeth II, is also praise-worthy.
Another show you’ve probably heard of by now, but may be on the fence about actually committing time to is HBO’s “Westworld.” I’ll admit, I was a skeptic, but if you’re a fan of a well-told, compelling story (or fabulous scenery) it’s worth checking out.
That should be enough to keep you occupied for at least a few weekends/sleepless nights. Happy binging!
…just for fun:
Rest in peace, Mr. Thicke.
