Center Parcs Easter Nest Challenge

Posted on the 27 April 2014 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy
We recently decided to take part in Center Parcs & Tots100's Easter Nest Challenge.
I thought it would be a pretty interesting task to try to make Edible Easter Nests with the help of a 1 year old who was more concerned with eating the chocolate but I thought it was certainly worth a go!
We had a browse over the top tips and decided to take on board the cereal tip!
We decided to use a fairy cake bottom, and a cereal  & chocolate mix topping with some mini eggs for decoration.

Tyne was rather good at mixing the fairy cake mix!
Once the fairy cakes were cooked we then started with the cereal topping.....
I couldn't decide which kind of cereal would look most "Nesty" though so we tried 3 different kinds!
Shredded wheat, rice krispies and cornflakes!
I think the shredded wheat worked best for nest-appeal but the rice krispies were our favorite taste wise!

We even tried adding chocolate matchsticks to some to make them seem a little more nest-like!

We had lots of fun making these, and Tyne certainly enjoyed eating them!
This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 April challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Longleat Forest
