On our recent trip away, we came across an interesting sounding fruit at a local market: chocolate fruit.
Being the chocoholics that we are, we were very inquisitive about this unusual looking fruit. We asked the local grower all about it and walked away with one. We’d have to keep it on a windowsill until it softened and then cut it open and eat it with ice-cream. Today seems to be the day. It’s soft to touch but doesn’t have any sort of smell. I’ll wait til after dinner.
I have to admit, I have been disappointed before with custard apples as they really don’t taste all that custardy or appley to me. It will be interesting to see what this fruit tastes like.
