Christmas Gift Guide 2020

After years of buying Christmas gifts for the same special people in your life, you may find it difficult to think up new and creative ideas. This particular gift guide will give you some inspiration for those small stocking fillers as well as those more luxury gifts.

Personalised gifts

Give a gift with a personalised touch this festive season. Many e-commerce retailers are now giving you the option to add personalisation to your gifts. Chocolate is a well received gift any time of the year, especially Christmas. You now have the opportunity to add your own message to a Cadbury bar and even a photo to the packaging.

With many of us spending more time at home, you may have found yourself dusting off the old board games or jigsaws. A personalised jigsaw of a memorable photograph is also a great idea. If you want to go that extra mile this year, you could even personalise your wrapping paper too!

How about a gift voucher for their favorite shop or restaurant to treat themselves too? If you are feeling creative and have a little extra time on your hands, how about an ‘I owe you’ jar. Write your own messages on pieces of paper that they can use once a month. This could be anything from ‘I owe you a home cooked meal’ to ‘I owe you a trip to the cinema’. The possibilities are endless and you can really personalise it to the receiver.

Experience days

For something a bit more special, there is the option of an experience day gift. With a variety of choices, you are certain to find something for everyone. A cooking class is always a great option for a budding chef, or even if they don’t see themselves at that level, it’s always a lot of fun with a few tasting sessions along the way. If you know they prefer to be wined and dined, there are also many restaurant experiences as well as cocktail classes and wine tasting sessions. The best part about an experience day is they are normally for 2 people - so you might be joining them for the ride!

Home bits & bobs

If there’s a foodie in your life, how about a new recipe book, or even a set of new kitchen knives? New baking utensils and a fresh apron is always a good choice for the Mary Berrys amongst us. Buying for a hot drink lover? A new ceramic mug is always a good idea and even better if it is printed with a quote that is guaranteed to put a smile on their face. If you want to add a little more, why not compliment their new mug with a hot chocolate kit or festive tea bag selection.

Electronics

For the sporty ones amongst your family, how about treating them to a smart watch? Many smartwatches have fitness tracking as a core feature, so it is great for keeping up with your fitness goals. Surprisingly, it boasts many of the same features as a smart phone - call/message taking and receiving, social media notifications and much more.

At a lower price point, a shower speaker is a great choice. You may want to avoid this gift choice for those you live with though! Know someone with all the tech imaginable? This charging station from Amazon is perfect for charging multiple devices at the same time - ideal before that long flight or train journey.

Online shopping is likely to be the choice for many of us this year. Use this to your advantage. You have the power to shop around to find that perfect gift, straight from the comfort of your sofa.
