I love this year Christmas lights in St Peter's. Some places did better than others, taking time and really trying to make it festive and fun. Having a walk down a Christmasy looking street is twice as enjoyable, I constantly stare at lights and decorations, stop by the most spectacular, snap pictures. It seemed a crime not to share them with you! Hope you will enjoy my holiday walk on Nevsky and the photos I took, those are the places I like best. Let's start, shall we?
Christmas Fair near Aleksandrinsky Theatre (Pushkin Theatre) and Ekaterininskiy Skver. The fair is opened from December 14 till January 7 and is said to annually attract more than 1 000 000 visitors. It's definitely worth visiting! This year's theme is 'All the flags come to visit us' with the representatives from 18 countries welcoming guests in their festive houses.
This little house represents Finland. Every single booth, or more like achip shop I guess, has something to offer. If you want mulled wine, hot dogs, roasted chestnuts, mead - Finland is the place to go to.
Russia seemed to attract loads of people with it's merchandize. Schals a la russe are on the most visible spot of course.
Cute willow baskets, chairs, tables. Crafty!
USA booth. Colorful and fun! I think this one was the most flamboyant of them all, definitely worth taking a picture of.
Ekaterininskiy Skver looks beautiful. That's the place to go in St Peter's if you want a portrait or a caricature; portraitists flock here, offering to quickly immortalize you on canvas or paper.
Such an elegant Christmas tree on the way to Anichkov Bridge. My favorite this year!
Beautiful multicolored Christmas lights on Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel.
L'Occitaine Petite Spa, really want to try their products sometime. Raving reviews everywhere I stumble upon them.
'Ounce' is a dream come true store for all the tea-lovers. Amazing blends, huge variety. They also have a supply of delicious sweets to go with tea - chocolate covered strawberries and almonds, hazel nuts in white chocolate, truffles and other types of candy that you can buy for yourself or as a present for your sweet tooth friends.
Reindeers and white Christmas tree in the window of Comfort Cafeteria.
Christmas lights in Stockman shopping center. So pretty, glittery and festive!
That's what Nevsky looks like on your way back from Vosstaniya Ploshchad to Gostinny Dvor.
Fairy-tale windows of Eliseev Emporium.
Horn of Plenty and cupids.
Vibrant Peacock on Malaya Sadovaya Street near Coffeeshop and Eliseev Emporium.
Silver Christmas tree in Passage shopping center.
Adore those fancy sparkly ornaments. That's what I call my type of decorations, eye-catching but not brash.
Winter city in the window of Bookvoed book store.Gostinny Dvor always decorates early and does pretty good job. I really like the small red Christmas trees they put up on the balcony this year.
Clock Tower on Dumskaya Street. Lights look so elaborate! I take a picture of it every year and it always looks perfect.
Hope you enjoyed this kind of post. Happy holidays! I can't wait till New Year, very excited!Reine x
