Christmas Wish List

Posted on the 16 December 2012 by Meltingmoments

Lovely Alicia from One Mother Hen has tagged us as a part of the Essentially Jess Wish Lists fun. Ang and I will share our lists and then tag five bloggers to do the same.

All I want for Christmas – Kaz’s Top 5 Wishes

1. Sleep. As a mother of a toddler, I yearn for the day that nightly wake ups come to an end and we can have uninterrupted sleep. Don’t laugh, the day will come.. won’t it?

Christmas Wish List

2. A smaller waistline. If it were only as easy as wishing for it and it would happen. Unfortunately for me, it’s going to take lots of hard work to kick these extra kilos. A new year and a fresh new approach is calling. I am looking forward to getting back in shape.

3. Good health. It kinda goes hand-in-hand with number two. I can’t say I’m feeling like I’m in my best health. I’m also waiting for some test results to come back so I am happy to forgo a new laptop (another wish) and just get a clean bill of health.

4. Relaxation. We’re taking a toddler camping over New Year. Don’t choke on your cuppa. I’m sure there’s a way I can get my feet up at some point while we’re away. I’m really looking forward to testing out our new camper-trailer.

5. Two red lines. :) Now or sometime soon would be nice.

 Dear Santa – Ang’s Top 5 Wishes:

1-  Air conditioning. Simple right? We have had some shocking nights sleep over the last few weeks during that string of very warm weather. It was simply unbearable in the bedrooms and poor B1 just could not sleep. One particular night she was dripping with sweat. Hubby ended up out in the lounge room with her. Once she finally settled she ended up asleep on her little fold out lounge, and hubby snoozed on the couch. I came out when I woke at 5:30 am to check on them. Hubby was out to it and B1 was too. Though she was no longer on her lounge. She had rolled over to the other side of the room and was asleep on her tummy on the carpet. So we have finally made the move and we had someone come to give us a quote. He has said if we give the go ahead by Monday, he should be able to have it in for us before Christmas. So wish number one, please let the air con be installed before Santa arrives.

Christmas Wish List

2- Good health. Not so much for me (though I would like to stick with my current run of  wellness),  but for those of my nearest and dearest who are suffering ill health, or fighting a health demon. May they conquer their battles and return to full health, strength and well-being.

Christmas Wish List

3- I don’t want to rush the natural development of my beautiful bubbas (ok, I know they are toddlers not bubbas anymore, but they will always be my babies). So rather than wishing that they could talk in order for me to be able to understand them, I am wishing for a super power. To be able to read their minds. Just like Edward in Twilight, I wish to be able to hear their thoughts. Life would be so much easier without trying to read the facial expressions, decipher the cries and whining, and dealing with the understandable frustration that occurs when the one person you rely on for every need can’t understand your desires.

Christmas Wish List

4- A house. Why not wish big, right? I’m not fussy, just a simple little home. In fact, I don’t even need a new house. I would settle for three changes to our current home (a two bedroom unit).  I really love our unit. The bathroom and the kitchen are a great size. As are the bedrooms. But I would like a third bedroom, so hubby and I can reclaim our own room. I would like to be on the ground floor, so getting out and about is that bit easier. And I would like a backyard for the twins, so they can run around. Our balcony does not suffice. Add these three things to our current residence and I would be happy.

Christmas Wish List

5- Time! This can come about in any way you see fit Santa. I just need more time in my days. I love being a SAHM to my babies. I don’t mind how hard it can be at times, and the never ending housework and cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping and more cleaning. I am happy to spend a fair amount of time doing all of these things, but I would love some extra time so that I may fit in more play time with them, more time to just BE with them.  I would also like some time to do the things I love that don’t even get a look in much these days. Things such as reading, soaking in a bubble bath, yoga or just time to sit in silence and have a cup of tea, finishing it without rushing. For this to occur, maybe time could stand still. The world around me could freeze, and I could keep moving at my own pace, before pressing play on the world when I am ready.
