Cleaning Frenzy!

Posted on the 27 February 2013 by Mamakbest @mamakbest

I woke up Tuesday morning with clothes and organization on my mind.  I think I was dreaming (possibly a nightmare) about all the clothes everywhere!  My suitcases were still barely unpacked (who needs bikinis in Brooklyn right now?!), the dryer was full and the usual collection of shoes were strewn all over my apartment. Apparently my subconscious was overwhelmed and not taking it any longer.

I spent the entire day organizing and purging,  going through both closets, every drawer, basket, bag and box.  It seemed as if everything I opened contained more clothes!  (I did find things I have looked for over the last few weeks.)

I was two hours in when I took the first picture.  I was just beginning the closet organization. The bright side to this kind of torture is finding great pieces that have been forgotten or finally getting rid of pieces like my A Rod Yankees baby tee…yeah, no need for that anymore!  At this point,  I had filled a large laundry bag of pieces to donate. I was also trying my best to switch out any plastic hangers for the flat hangers, which truly do make a huge difference but there are never enough of them.

Here are a few tips for closet organization ( My three piles were keep, donate and trash and I obviously have a pink bias with the hangers!):   cleaning frenzy

This is the look most people have when all of my clothes are hung up and put away!  Why are clothes such a challenge or rather keeping clothes organized is a challenge for me.   I should be really embarrassed to even show the before picture.  I know my Mother is cringing right now BUT just a mere FIVE hours later and everything is nice and neat and in its proper place. Plus I have a ridiculous amount of clothes to donate to Goodwill!

I’m making a promise to myself that I will keep this floor clean and the closet organized for… hmm… as long as possible.  :)
