Cofton Country Holidays Review
We were recently given the opportunity to review a holiday home courtesy of Cofton Country Holidays. The holiday home we had been offered is located on Coftons site in a beautiful location called near Dawlish, right here in South Devon, not to far from where we live.
Having seen the promotional images and read through the information, we really wanted to see if it lived up to the hype, and as soon as we arrived we realised we were not going to be disappointed.
Cofton is a 4 star graded park set within 80 acres of stunning Devon countryside. Having been a family run business for 40 years, it's easy to see why people would choose to come back year after year. With a choice of holiday homes, cottages and apartments, caravan pitches and static caravans set over their sites, it's an ideal place for any holiday maker choosing to visit and enjoy the best that Devon has to offer - countryside and beach alike.
There's even a range of RV pitches and as well as caravans and cottages with hot tubs, not to mention centrally heated accommodations and year round opening for all season holidaymakers.
After a very pleasant drive through some gorgeous countryside we arrived at Cofton Country Holiday park. From the minute we arrived and collected the keys we found the staff to be very helpful, polite, and enthusiastic. The young lady at reception made it clear that nothing was to much trouble or if we needed anything they'd be on hand to help.

The cottage we had been located was called Westwood and is located only a few metres away from the main reception building. With ample parking space outside and a lovely view of Cofton Church and the surrounding woods to the rear of the cottage, we really did feel a little spoiled.
Upon entering Westwood, we were immediately impressed at how well appointed the property is.
The cottage was spotlessly clean, with the main living room be tastefully decorated and furnished with ample room for us.
The living room itself had a huge TV in it, two very comfortable two seater couches, a coffee/games table with Monopoly, Dominos, etc, and a dining area-perfect for us and the children. Tyne soon noticed the games  provided and before we had even unpacked he was wanting us to all join in a game of Connect Four!
For any visitors wishing to enjoy the surrounding countryside and natural beauty, books on local plant life and bird spotting are provided as well as a nice set of binoculars to help people actually spot the wildlife-very considerate!
A vacuum cleaner, ironing board, highchair and travel cot were discreetly tucked away within the cupboard under the stairs. and a rechargeable torch provided to aid your way home at night after enjoying the amenities.
Jon was very impressed with the kitchen which, although small featured everything you could need. From cutlery and crockery, to sets of glasses and a full sets of  pots, pans and cooking utensils everything we needed and more was there...there was even a mussel steamer!!!!
As with the living area, the kitchen was immaculately clean and user friendly with all electric facilities and ample plugs for sterilizers etc. should they be required. It was clear no expense has been spared to make people feel as comfortable and as at home as possible during their stays here.
My only suggestion would be for perhaps the addition of a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs - one was provided at the top which was great, but our 12 month old was on a constant mission to climb them so one at the bottom would be very useful.
After going upstairs, we were able to see if the upper half of the house lived up to the lower half. We weren't disappointed. Once again, the rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated.
The bathroom features a shower and full sized bath, the latter of which is perfect for families with small children like ours who do not like showers or if you fancy a good soak after a long day enjoying the surrounding area.
There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, again perfectly sized, airy and tastefully decorated.
As with the lower floor, there are lots of nice touches including wall mounted TV and DAB clock radio. The beds have gorgeous Egyptian cotton covers and were so comfortable just what you need after a long day exploring or having family fun.

The Cofton Country Holidays park features a host of amenities including Ashburn Springs, their very own on site mini leisure center. Ashburn Springs boasts a host of features including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym with sauna and steam rooms, and a soft play area for small children.
Add to these on-site shops and play areas, nature trails and  fishing lakes for people wishing to take an angling holiday, the facilities really are extensive.
The indoor pool is a particular delight as it’s constantly above 30 degrees – it’s actually used by Water Babies for their classes.  The floor of the pool is soft and grippy, which means you don’t slip, and its got a great splash down area for the kids with water fountains and jets.  Whenever they come on you can hear squeals of delight from the little ones as they dash in and out of the jets.  There’s even an in-pool hydrotherapy lounger, which gently caresses you with bubbles.

Located only 20 minutes from the M5 Exeter it's ideal for family holidays here in South Devon. A short drive, or 30 minutes walk via the nature trails and you'll find yourself at Dawlish Warren beach with its arcades and fun park. Travel slightly further on and you'll arrive at historic Dawlish home of the famous Black Swan, or slightly further and you have Exeter and Dartmoor. Cofton is ideally located for anyone wishing to explore Devon and it's stunning countryside, history and natural beauty.

Whilst staying at Cofton the weather was gorgeous and we had to take advantage of it's being so close to Dawlish Warren, a traditional seaside holiday spot.
Dawlish Warren has a lovely clean stretch of beach. Both Tyne and Noah loved making sandcastles, and covering our feet in sand whilst there (though its worth noting that access for prams or wheelchair users is almost non existent at present due to works taking place...nearby Dawlish beach is much easier to access)
Dawlish Warren also has it's own mini fun park with trampolines, crazy golf, mini roller coaster and attractions as well as arcades and adventure golf - a really lovely traditional family seaside holiday area with all the traditional favourites including FREE face painting at weekends and even donkey rides (for a small charge) - Tyne wasted no time finding a favorite Donkey (Paddy). If your kids are a little older it’s good to know that you can visit the Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve too, which is home to an astounding number of migratory birds and foul – another use for those handy binoculars...

In summary this was a great traditional family holiday that was only a stone's throw away from where we live. Not to far to travel, but with enough on offer to keep young children and their adults very happy and entertained for a week with gorgeous accommodation. We didn't once hear those dreaded words 'I'm bored'  and were spoiled for choice with things to do daily even on days when the weather wasn't so nice. Cofton Country Holidays more than lived up to the hype, it surpassed it and we'd like to say a huge thank you for the opportunity to review this lovely holiday spot. If you’re thinking of a family friendly trip to Devon, Cofton should definitely be on the list.
