Compassion + Action = Joyful Productivity & Increased Boldness

“I would rather make mistakes in kindness and compassion than work miracles in unkindness and hardness.”
Mother Teresa

Katherine's voice just rang out from the back of the house, "Mommy! Are you doing your writing thing?"

It always helps to have buddies to hold me accountable for my writing activity.

I haven't been so consistent lately. School breaks tend to do that before me and before that, I was pretty immersed in other people's concerns. When one loves people, sometimes things go off course.

The important thing is to not beat myself up for not staying on course, but celebrate awareness and getting back on course.  This holds true for you, too.

This month, my theme is "Bold Self Compassion."

My theme of the year is BOLD and I knew I would need to be gentle with myself in January so I am focusing on being gently bold and boldly gentle with myself. I am conscious and I am loving. I am actively practicing patience with myself.

Do you hve a theme for the year or the month? If you haven't tried it, why not?

At this rate, I might even have mastered forgiving myself by the end of January. It is my birthday on one of the last three days of the month, so why not shoot for the stars?

Isabel Allende wrote, "We only have what we give."

I have, for whatever reason, been programmed into giving to others much more than I give to myself. I can have oodles of compassion for complete strangers, but compassion for myself has been a nearly foreign experience in my life.

The "why" this is doesn't matter. What matters is my new awareness and the action I take as a result.

Yes, Katherine - I am doing my writing thing. It feels great. I am being boldly self compassionate and wow, do I feel great!
