Confessions of a Hostie is a book series written by an Australian Flight attendant Danielle Huges about the adventures and high-jinks that happen speeding in a metal tube at 30,000 ft and traveling around the world for a living. This highly successful book series in Australia includes two books: ‘Confessions of a Hostie: True Stories of an International Flight Attendant’ and ‘More Confessions of a Hostie: The Second Sector’. Both books have recently been released in the UK and I got sucked into Danielle’s exciting life over the Christmas holidays.
Danielle Hughes is actually not the real name of the author, and I am not surprised, as she does spill the beans on what happens behind the scenes with an international air crew, and it’s quite saucy! Before you read these books, let me warn you, they will destroy your romantic notions about pilots (‘boring techies’) and there are a lot of bodily fluids involved, not with pilots may I add, but with passengers who seem to have every sort of mishap on board involving…. yes…. use your imagination and even then you cannot possible imagine what Danielle has seen on those long-haul flights.
Having said that Danielle absolutely loves her job and thoroughly enjoys being an international hostie. She has many opportunities to do charity work around the world and to treat her friends and family to glamorous trips around the world. Then there’s all that bargain shopping. She has a wardrobe fit for Victoria Beckham and all that with a fraction of a price we would spend.
Check out the book trailer for Confessions of a Hostie: True Stories of an International Flight Attendant here:

Danielle, like most of us, started dreaming of a life as an international hostie (hostie is what flight attendants are called in Australia) when she was 11 years old and took a trip with her family. She saw those beautiful and glamorous women who travel far and wide to exotic locations as a career and wanted to be one of them. Didn’t we all? Her dream came true and after some 20 years as part of an international flight crew, she very honestly shares with us the constant jet lag and the toll it takes on your body, the sleeping pills and the drinks (but not mixed together!) that hosties use to catch a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, the difficulty in maintaining friendships and relationships on solid ground.
And then there are the passengers… The passengers who pull, tug, grope (yes, even in this day and age!) the hosties and plight their workdays with hissy fits and unreasonable demands. Next time you think of exhibiting any drama queen behavior on an aircraft, I would think twice as hosties take ‘silent revenge’ on passengers. These books are quite the eye openers!
There is even love involved in Danielle’s high-flying life! I’m not telling you the details, you have to read the books! But there’s a traditional hostie-pilot rendezvous in the first book and a very dishy doctor in More Confessions of a Hostie. Will it be a happy ending for Danielle? You just have to find out yourself!
Confessions of a Hostie: True Stories of an International Flight Attendant and More Confessions of a Hostie: The Second Sector are easy and addictive reading. I read each book in a day! Currently the books are e-book releases and UK Amazon is selling the first Confessions of a Hostie book for £2.47, an absolute steal! These books are entertaining reads and perfect reading on a holiday, on your work commute or even on a plane… You will never look at flight attendants the same again!
You can get Confessions of a Hostie: True Stories of an International Flight Attendant and More Confessions of a Hostie: The Second Sector at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com.au, Amazon.ca and Amazon.com.
