Count On Me, #1107

I am a proud Mama today and am still riding on a wave of joy from my children’s accomplishments last night.  Later in the week for the blog I write for my work, I will tell you all about the “Noah and the Lost Bark” play that I wrote & directed, but today, I just want to exercise my Mommy rights to brag about my kids.

My kids were in the show and played a brother & sister doggie team.  My daughter is a veteran performer and loves getting on a stage more than anyone possibly could.  My son, on the other hand, has only been in one play before at his school and only had to memorize one three-worded line.

Truth be told – I wasn’t sure that he’d be able to pull off this part.  He was not exactly the picture of a focused zen master during rehearsals, but then – WOW!  Not only did he do it well, but he was so overjoyed and proud of himself.  Seeing the confidence he gained from one evening on the stage fulfilled every expectation I could have hoped for.

So yes, I am a super proud Mom today and really love the benefits of performance for children.  My song of the day was spoofed in our show last night.  “Count On Me,” by Bruno Mars, however, is also a song about friendship and pulling through for each other.  I’m so happy our little family has each other to count on.  :)
