Coworth Park. Ascot.

Across London, on the other side of the M25, approximately sixty four miles from my hometown is a hidden gem that would rival the most sophisticated hotel resorts in the UK.
Having spent four glorious days in The Stables, suitably named as our rooms were a converted ellipse of cottages around an immaculately trimmed garden, I returned back to East London feeling refreshed and at peace but sorely disappointed that there was no uniformed butler waiting to take my cases to my room.

This feeling is known as the after effect of Coworth Park, with its acres of meadows, muddy tracks and paved paths winding throughout the property, you wouldn’t want to leave. Our room, a cocoon of luxury on its own, was decorated in neutral shades of cream and brown finished off with little hints of equestrianism, from the riding crop curtain rails, the brown leather encased door handles to the thick fabrics lined with brown leather that were used throughout the room.

As I registered the kids to swim, the impeccable receptionist handed my daughter a swimming nappy and disposable bag without me having to ask and promptly ushered us into the fully stocked changing rooms that was every cosmopolitan girls dream – hairdryers that actually blasted hot air, GHD’s, expensive body creams, miniature shampoos, conditioners and body gels, hair ties and soft slippers all laid out waiting to be utilised.Down in the basement the infinity pool lined on one side with soothing mood stones welcomed us to sample the warm water. Unlike many public pools, not only was the water heated to a glorious temperature but the air was warm without being humid. If you ever find yourself here, make time for the Experience Shower that sits behind closed doors where you can choose from a ray of settings whilst being massaged by the powerful jets that are angled towards aching muscles.Coworth Park. Ascot. On our second day, I took my little one down to the equestrian center to feed the ponies. Expecting a typical smelly and chaotic stable, I was astounded at the quality of the animals’ surroundings, each horse was safely locked behind freshly painted walls and pristine steel bars, all without a hint of stale air. The stables were breezy, tidy and fully staffed with friendly people who were happy to let us into each enclosure to pat the perfectly groomed horses that radiated health.

In the grounds

The rest of our days were spent walking around the grounds, watching polo matches and spending time in the Barn, an informal restaurant that served halal food for its Muslim customers. If you are looking for an escape from the worldly pressures then I suggest you look up Coworth park and book yourself in for a minimum two nights stay. Perfect for mothers as this little resort comes with a Kids Club that will look after your little ones so that you are free to experience the many delights it has to offer.
