Are you dreaming of a garden straight out of a Pinterest board? Well, you're in luck! With a little creativity and a touch of magic, you can transform your outdoor space into a Pinterest-worthy haven, even on a limited budget.
Our garden area is less of a true garden - and more of a small yard with some artificial grass strategically placed on the garage roof to give the illusion of a garden! Quirky, right!? We're all about making the best of what we've got and as we're on a limited budget in a rented space, I have to accept that the beautiful gardens of Pinterest may be a little out of reach in some ways - but that doesn't mean I can't borrow snippets of inspiration to create my own version of summer paradise!
Here are my tips for sprucing up your outside space, and a look at some of the additions we'll be using ourselves throughout the summer
1. Capture the Pinterest Aesthetic:
Pinterest gardens are all about creating a visual feast for the eyes. Start by envisioning the aesthetic you'd like to achieve—whether it's bohemian, minimalist, or a cozy cottage style. Look for inspiration on Pinterest and identify key elements like colors, textures, and themes that resonate with you. This will serve as your guide as you begin to transform your garden. Create a board for your ideas and get pinning!
2. Embrace the Magic of Fairy Lights & Quirky Lighting:
Fairy lights are an enchanting addition to any garden, instantly creating a whimsical and cozy atmosphere. Hang them along fences, wrap them around trees, or drape them over pergolas to add a touch of sparkle to your outdoor space. Opt for solar-powered lights to save on electricity costs and reduce your environmental footprint.
I found a wonderful and budget friendly selection at Lights4Fun which are going to be so helpful in turning out outside space into a magical setting - I've bought some festoon lighting to drape across the patio area:

You can also add a splash of color by adorning your seating area with vibrant outdoor pillows or blankets. This will provide both comfort and style to your garden retreat. I have had my eye on a comfy egg chair for the garden for ages now, and finally treated myself to one last Summer - I hung some celestial stonework nearby and decorated with a cute rattan table and these beautiful lanterns which create a perfect reading nook for day or night.
4. Incorporate Eye-Catching Planters:
Upgrade your garden's visual appeal by introducing unique and eye-catching planters. Look for vintage pots, colorful ceramic containers, or repurpose old teapots and boots for a quirky touch. Hanging baskets and wall-mounted planters can also add vertical interest and make use of limited space. 5. Introduce a Water Feature:
