Creating Keepsakes @ Matina Townsquare, Davao City

Posted on the 29 May 2013 by Ileodarod @ilevillegas
After our dinner our aphat, we proceeded to Matina Town Square, to this little spot called Creating Keepsakes for dessert. It was my littlest sister who suggested it, as she claims that Creating Keepsakes is her happy place. It's easy to see why this humble little hole-in-the-wall really appeals to students. Moreover, it's located near Ateneo de Davao Highschool/Gradeschool, which is probably their target customers.
The first thing that you'll notice when you enter the place is that it's uniquely decorated. It has all sorts of crafty stuff in display that aren't really for sale but are just there to prettify the place. You somehow get the same feeling that you get when you enter etude house, except this one's more homely and less dollhouse-like.
Here are some pictures of the place. It looks more like a gift shop.

Shot taken through the mirror glass. Made me think of Alice in Wonderland. This place really puts me in the mood for fairytales.
Ingredients for their parfait.
These were the craft stuff that I was talking about.
A dream catcher! With a boho twist.

should definitely make one for my room
Creating Keepsakes serves all sorts of food, from complete meals to merienda. But we only went for dessert so I can't show you how their meals look like. Here are some blogs that talk about them though:BuhayKikayFlavours of Davao
For deserts, we got cupcakes! They have rows and rows of cupcakes.
S'mores - P50 I've always thought cupcakes were overrated until I took a bite from a Smores Cupcake from Creating Keepsakes that my sister brought at home a few months back.

If you don't know what s'mores are, these treat became popular during campfires and consist of marshmallow roasted over the fire and some chocolates sandwiched over two graham cracker.
This cupcake version has a base that is similar to a typical smore and is topped with whip cream.S'mores is also their bestseller.
Red Velvet - P40
Another cupcake that I thought was over-rated but I grew to love.I'm not even going to start talking about this as I know nothing about baking at all. All I can say is that it's super yummy!Although I must warn you that while Red Velvet is more commonly known to have cream cheese as frosting, Chasing Keepsakes' version is more sugary. I don't really know what. All I can say is it's not cream cheese but is super delicious nonetheless.
