I will, however, be getting on a different soap box to defend the actual intentions of this obscure and random holiday, but well-meaning.
I apologize for the plans and dreams I’m crushing with this revelation, but this holiday is actually meant to promote healthy living every day, and I quote the holiday is meant to promote, “…body acceptance, including fat acceptance and body shape diversity.”
I suppose you could celebrate that by consuming an obscene amount of chocolate, but it seems to miss the point.
I admit, I too thought the day was about quitting your diet (still an awful practice) for 24 hours, and I have to say that some re-branding might help them get their actual point across better.
It’s not about abandoning healthy choices (something I’ve seen poorly worded in more than one headline today), but about making them part of your every day.
Again, I apologize for any chocolate binge plans I’ve put a crimp in, but I had to share the truth.
