When you watch the movie you will realize that this movie was made with painstaking labor, money and very high expectations. There is something wrong about loving your own creation. Once you start doing that, you lose the objectivity of the entire exercise. I guess and I am afraid something of that sorts has happened with this movie.
Rakesh Roshan knows the pulse of Indian mass. Time and again he has given us masala pot boilers which still are very much in demand barring a few Krraaazzyy stuff! Remember "Karan Arjun", "Khoon Bhari Maang", "Kaho na pyaar hai" and "Koi Mil Gaya"? To some extent Krisshh (again confusion) too! I know, this film has claimed to grossed 200 crores and all. But the point I am making here is not how bad this film is. The point is, how shoddy the treatment was of a "could have been brilliant" movie.
So what sets it apart? Let me jot down some good points first.
Brilliant special effects! Simply wow effects for an Indian cinema. If you watch the movie you would end up marveling the beautiful work which an Indian company has done! Take a bow "RedChillVFX"! Hritik Roshan is the second best thing. Take any Hollywood actor and pitch him against Roshan Jr. We all know he is a good actor, but the charisma he is creating as "Krishna" I guess Krisshh (again) fails to do that. We would love to see him in a hardcore intense hand to hand action film for sure. Story, however thin lined,was in my opinion was a very good idea. But alas, only the seed was brilliant.
Now come to the flip side of it. My biggest grudge with Roshan Sr. is he failed miserably to carry the entire film to the level where VFX effect already was. The treatment of the rest of the story remained ingrained pretty much in "Khoon Bhari Maang" era! Otherwise how would you explain that son of a scientist and husband of a TV journalist who is extremely good at speaking english, charmingly handsome and lives in a villa in Mumbai has to work as a security guard for a living???!!! I mean are you serious? First of all why does he need to work? He is Krissh! :P
Some itsy bitsy points before i come to screenplay and pathetic dialogues. Why on earth Krissshh was wearing black sports shoes??? why not a classy leather or rubber one? Why wasn't he clean shaven most of the times when wearing the mask? For that matter Kaal too??? Did not get enough time? Is it? Only in that Song with Kangana Ranaut we saw a clean Krisssh,,, eeerrrr Krishna!
Extremely predictable screenplay, which certainly was not expected from Roshan Sr. While watching the movie you actually know what is coming in the next scene! Not done. "Jahan crisis hai wahan Krishhh hai" wow! Dialogue writer needs a pat or two on his back.
Audience has grown up sir. I understand you don't need my opinion. You already have made your money and its a super success for you. However, just for a moment, if you could ponder for a moment, what I want to say. Some logic behind the scenes. Some strict editing and chopping off extremely verbose dialogues would have made this film a brilliant one.
But to the credit of Roshan Sr. inspite of all of these, he did it again. Film is a super hit or at least being claimed. Otherwise we do have movies like RaOne.
