Cynicism and Awards: My #BlogFlashDaily Blurt

Blogflashdaily

It has been TOO LONG since I have done a brief warm up from the prompt from my friends at #BlogFlashDaily! So glad to be writing here today - especially editing 144 into 109 words.

I have become cynical about awards.

The politics of the choosers, the politics of the unchosen, the competition spreading to the designers of the gowns and perhaps, next, an award for the best chauffeur of a rising starlet most likely to offend the general public.

I laugh with my children about my long awaited trophy for the mother of the year.
It has yet to arrive, like Susan Lucci who as far as I know never won a daytime emmy even when nominated year after year after year so much so that her annual nomination turned into an annual joke.

I wonder if Susan Lucci has become cynical?
