Dads Christmas Gift Guide

Posted on the 08 December 2013 by Alex_bumptobaby @bumptobaby_blog
Okay, so I’ve already covered what to get the kids this Christmas, so now I think it’s about time that we give Dads a little bit of attention. If you are a parent, you will be all too familiar with how your pay packet is divided in the home. If it’s not being spent on the mortgage or household bills, it goes on giving your little ones the best of the best. Rarely do we indulge ourselves in some of life’s little luxuries. But if you can’t indulge at Christmas, when can you indulge, right? So I’ve decided to compile this gift guide of all of the little luxuries that the man in your life will love.Dads Christmas Gift GuideTrainersAs parents, we all have a ‘make do’ attitude; it may be worn and tatty, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! This is certainly Adam’s motto. I noticed the other day when I was tidying up that his best trainers are starting to look a bit battered so I’m thinking of getting him a new pair.I know if I head to the high-street I’ll end up forking out a fortune for a pair I could have found cheaper online. I’ve been doing a bit of research to get some ideas and I stumbled across the tReds website. They stock a great selection of brands but I really like their collection of Lacoste shoes and I know that Adam’s a fan of the brand too. Lacoste can be quite pricey but I was surprised to see that they were really affordable. Plus, if I sign up to the newsletter, they will send me a 10 per cent discount voucher – bonus!AftershaveAftershave will always come in handy and will keep your man smelling good all year round. Designer fragrances can be tough on your bank balance though. Many people will tell you to avoid gift sets this Christmas, but they might actually be a good option when it comes to fragrances. You often find that a gift set with aftershave and other toiletries is cheaper than purchasing the fragrance alone. I love the smell of Paco Rabannes 1 Million aftershave, so I’m thinking about getting that for Adam. And, the gift set is £3 cheaper in Boots than just the fragrance, bagging me yet more savings that will help me out come January.Dining outParents rarely get any alone time together. While Adam and I try to squeeze in as many date nights as possible, they are few and far between. Even if we could bare to tear ourselves away from Ethan more often, we still couldn’t justify spending so much money on a fancy meal.I recently signed up to the Groupon newsletter. Every day I receive a selection of offers for local and national restaurants – some of the savings are hard to believe! Most of these offers operate on a voucher basis, allowing you to use them whenever you choose. I may purchase one of these and treat Adam to a romantic meal in the New Year.  If I do though, I may have to invest in a new dress.. ;)Dads Christmas Gift Guide
