DanCool Tube: Say Something Nice. Sometimes People Actually Do…!

We’ve all been there.  Sometimes you just need to see somebody do something nice to renew your faith in human beings.

Getting caught in the subway doors.  Standing in the express lane behind the doink with a full grocery cart of supplies (…building a bomb shelter, dude?)  Sitting in rush hour traffic, watching the gas gauge needle wobble below the red line and dumping  your drink all at the same time.

Whatever.  Sometimes you just need to see something that will put the smile back on your face.

Chances are pretty slim nowadays that you’ll actually run across someone rescuing a baby from the rails of an out of control Amtrak, or someone racing with Lassie to an abandoned well to rescue Timmy after he has fallen down the chute for what seems the hundredth time.  That’s not gonna happen.

But you can watch a video of people in New York City taking time out of their day to simply say something nice to total strangers.

Say Something Nice was designed and created by Improv Everywhere in connection with the Guggenheim Museum.  They built a lecture podium with a megaphone holster, attached a single sign with one simply stated direction to follow, “Say Something Nice,” and left it sitting around NYC  to observe if people really are genuinely good at heart.

Wait for it…they really are!  What resulted is a smile inducing video showing that people can actually be nice to one another.

Check it out.  There are alot of moments to make you grin, but the kid with the Buzz Lightyear gets my vote.
