Daring to Follow Your Dreams

Something I struggle with is daring to dream big. This might sound silly because I was the first in my family to go to college, and now I'm a lawyer, but it's true. My dreams were safe. They were responsible. They were respected.
Other dreams that I've had, that didn't seem so responsible, have not been accomplished. For example, I've never been out of the country. I always wanted to study abroad, but it would have been irresponsible to take out a loan in undergrad, or more loans in law school, to do so.
I was originally an English major, and had dreams and goals of being a journalist, or writing books, but 18-year-old-me asked, "what sort of responsible person becomes a starving artist?" Not this one.
Now that I look back on my life and experiences, I wish I had had a bit more fun.  Now, I am working to accomplish some more of my more daring dreams. I won NaNoWriMo last year, and have been working on editing that. I've been looking more into writing short stories or articles. I hope that eventually I'll get the courage to be more daring. For now, I'll just practice in baby steps :).
What sort of daring dreams do you have? Have you accomplished them?
