Suddenly I woke deep in the night, my soul longing for a view
I looked out the window, hoping I might catch a glimpse of you
I looked to the right, then off to the left
As you came into view, the sight took my breath
It warms the heart; your beauty so bright
A great comfort, as I stand alone deep in the night
My face is aglow as you sweet talk my mind
Silent words of encouragement about the peace I can find
Hypnotized by your nonverbal tone
Just realizing, deep in the night, I’m not really alone
For I have you my handsome Moon
To enlighten my soul and change my tune
Back to bed I do skip full of glee
Now ignorant to the anxiety which had awoken me
Now all comfy, drifting off to sleep
Dreaming of Great Moons, not making a peep.
