spiraling change
"The entire universe is God's cosmic motion picture, and that individuals are merely actors in the divine play who change roles through reincarnation; mankind's deep suffering is rooted in identifying too closely with one's current role, rather than with the movie's director, or God."― Paramahansa Yogananda
As I witness this day, it represents for me a symbolic moment. We are in the beginning of a systems-busting adventure set in motion by the Cosmos, playing out in our little world.
So, what we are learning at this time which can be exemplified on this day, Election day in the USA, I see as a crescendo moment, an apex moment when we can decide what we are going to do with our energy, how we can best use it. The feeling is like being on a rollercoaster when the car inches up the track, and that brief moment before it comes rushing down the other side. For a moment, it can seem like sure-death. But in that pause is that moment of preparation, the sucking in of breath before it whooshes out, and the exhilaration of the falling movement as the car plunges to earth. We're at the crescendo moment at the top of the track, and I think this particular moment is so heightened, that people are holding their breath, waiting for that inevitable noturningback moment before the rapid-fire descent.
"Those who do not move, do not notice their chains."
― Rosa Luxemburg
Make no mistake: the car is going to descend - that must happen, but how we experience it is in accordance with our choices and how we understand the world, with this time period, and with our attachment to whatever we consider reality.
Will we scream in horror and rage against it, or will we yield to the movement and give in to a synchrony with our Inner Divine, knowing that we are being held and carried, even as that falling action seems to belie that?
This moment is instructive. It registers the choices we are making consciously and unconsciously; noting how we utilize our energy, how we navigate from this moment to the next, and onward. It just won't end and begin with this election, with people putting their ballots in those boxes, and registering their political choices, exercising their righteous agency, making their statements, throngs of people queuing up to live out the promise of democracy. But based on the heightened levels of division in our society these days, there are going to be great levels of disappointment. There always are when you think in terms of winners and losers, (which is problematic, in general, but I'll save that for another time). Inevitably, there's going to be one who loses, and as a result, a fallout from that. And as that fallout goes, so goes our path ahead.
"One thing: you have to walk, and create the way by your walking; you will not find a ready-made path. It is not so cheap, to reach to the ultimate realization of truth. You will have to create the path by walking yourself; the path is not ready-made, lying there and waiting for you. It is just like the sky: the birds fly, but they don't leave any footprints. You cannot follow them; there are no footprints left behind."
― Osho
Whether we choose to participate in that system or not, there are those of us who understand the bigger dynamics at play at this very moment. We are aware of the approaching cosmic turns that will impact humankind forever. We are able to see, and step back from that up-close vision of this candidate or that one, we can separate from the vision of just-this as reality, with its limited ideas of what is possible for us as a species, and what we can control.
We can step back and hold the larger view, because we see behind the scenes, and because we can disengage from the emotional hooking of 3-D reality, as the drama plays out in front of us all. We hold the vision for what humanity can be, and we know and can demonstrate how to utilize our energy, how to make choices about what we do or say, that will not add to the flame of this moment of conflagration. May there be some balm, comfort, soothing, and may we pour some water onto the fire of fear now raging, in order to mitigate and minimize the damage that threatens all of us.
"Your observations and conclusions are mirrored illusions of your inner state of being, teaching you truth through falsehoods, strength through weakness and clarity through confusion. You are seeing your Self now, disguised as the world through a lens of denial, but you will soon come to realize that what you choose to deny in yourself manifests into your world. The flaws you see in your world are your most powerful teachers."

This day is symbolic. It registers in a special way in the ethers. On earth, it's a moment of choice, a crucial moment, that echoes out to apogee, as we decide our future. We think we're deciding on a president, but we are deciding more than that. As we exercise our individual agency, let us be mindful of how we respond, decide how we act, speak, think, and move. As we do, we're doing two things. First, we are being responsible for our lives, our choices, our actions. We are owning our lives. And secondly, we are acting from a more enlightened and informed perspective that helps disconnect from the emotional drama that exacerbates the flame, the tension, the conflict, the confusion , the chaos, the anger, the fury, the fighting of this moment, and positioning ourselves to synchronize with the greater cosmic change because it's coming.
What a moment!
We've had plenty of elections before, and likely will continue to have them in this form a while longer. But in this moment - we're at a choice point, unlike any we've had before. So, we have the opportunity to take action, not only in our choice of what we want to see in the world within this system, but also, how we might understand and levy that same agency, choice, freedom, and democracy to be a part of a conscious, willing, harmonious transition from limited to greater consciousness, during the process of dynamic cosmic change that's underway.
If you are among those who are aware of this time of ascension, and this opportunity for serious transformation and growth, then draw more deeply on that spirit that guides, directs, and covers you, and that helps balance out your human instinct and aspects with your spiritual knowledge and divine origins, so that on this day, when there is this heightened energy, before the denouement symbolized by the falling rollercoaster car, you might be a voice in the wilderness crying out for peace, crying out for justice, fairness, equanimity, truth, change, sanity, love. You might be a symbol of the new, which is about the unity, and not that which perpetuates the divide.
"It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change."
― Leon C. Megginson
May we disengage from the emotion in order to find some clarity, some grounding, some understanding, some compassion, some truth? Let us not devour each other and our hopes for more life and a better world. That world is coming and we can't stop it. How much of a detour, distraction, or derailment we undergo is up to us. Smooth, exhilarating adventure, or interminably long, unbearable road trip, full of bumps, bruises, child-fights, and battle scars?
You can choose. As you make that choice in your outer world, co-sign it inside, with your Inner Divine.
