In my last blog post to all of you, I explained how disappointed my daughter had felt when she came home the other night to discover that her brother and I had decorated the house for Halloween without her. I had no idea that she’d be anything less than excited when she saw all of the decorations, so I had to make it up to her.
The very next day, we headed to our local Halloween store for costume shopping. She’s so funny. Planning what she will be for Halloween is the biggest deal. She had poured over the Halloween catalogs that had come in in the mail. I had to call several store locations to see if they carried the one costume she had her eye on. Then we went into the store. The costume she had been vying for was on hold, and we headed straight for the dressing room. She looked adorable in it, but just as we were all set to go to the cash register, “Mommy, I better look at all of the costumes just to be sure.” We made our way up and down the girl aisles, when suddenly she spotted the cutest Cookie Monster costume. ”This is adorable. I must try this on!” Back to the dressing room, and when she put it on, she was all smiles. She had found her costume.
