Devil's Bridge has quite a legend behind its name. Mostly involving an old woman and her cow. You can read all about that here if you're interested. As you can see from the last picture, the bridge has been rebuilt a couple of times since the original, giving it quite a whimsical effect.
Once you reach the bottom, after going down those treacherous steps, you are so close to the quite ferocious water, and the sound is overwhelming. I can imagine if you lived close to it, down by the water would make quite the perfect pondering spot. There were two walks you could apparently take around the spot, one being 10mins and the other 45mins. We were lazy and did the short one. Kidding. We actually didn't even see the longer one. Honestly, gawd knows where the heck this 45min walk came into play as we blatatnyl only found the shorter version. This is unless the longer walk is if you happen to fall in the river than have to walk back to the car park from further down stream. Anyone else ever been to Devils Bridge, or anywhere similar?
