I'm seeing reports from a conservative blog or two playing up the notion that Russian President Vladimir Putin had passed along well wishes to former President George W. Bush while Obama had not.
There's enough crap to hang on Obama that's real and tangible, there's no need to make things up:
President Barack Obama called George W. Bush on Wednesday to send well wishes following the former
president’s emergency heart surgery.
Obama made the call to “wish him well and is glad to hear that the procedure went well and that former President Bush is recovering,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters Thursday.
Bush underwent surgery on Tuesday to get a stent to open a blocked artery.
Of course, the made up stuff likely came from this initial report Tuesday from Carney:
White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters that President Barack Obama was briefed on Bush’s procedure and “obviously wishes him well.” He didn’t believe Obama and Bush had spoken, Carney said.
I wish the former President well.
I wish the current President would resign.
