Dirty Laundry, #724

Posted on the 03 July 2013 by Juliezaz1 @juliezaz1

You have not even begun to have seen dirty laundry until you’ve emptied a child’s duffle bag from overnight summer camp.  Holy moly!  There was mud caked to the clothes and a dampness and a smell to it all.  Not to mention the endless strew of notes and letters and envelopes saved and treasured that were wet and sticking to various garments.  Even the shoes, toothbrush, soap and toothpaste had dirt somehow glued on.  I have now washed, scrubbed, sorted more nasty crud that one Mama could even begin to imagine.  Shouldn’t there be a special Mom award for this?  Seriously…I had to go through two weeks of missing my child so much and worrying about her well being, and then…one of the nastiest jobs on the planet.  Gross!!!!!

Thank you, Don Henley, for writing a song perfect for this blog post.  ”Kick ‘em when they’re up.  Kick ‘em when you’re down.  You’ve got dirty laundry.”  Click HERE to go to Youtube to hear for yourself.  I will tell you, dirty laundry is not my favorite part of summer camp.  Blech!
