DIY: Brush Calligraphy

Brush calligraphy's always been in my list of things that I want to try out. I think it's fun plus it's easy to get into and all you need are some basic art tools and a nice handwriting (or the determination to achieve one haha). I'm still quite a newbie so just cut me some slack.Here are the simple things you'll need.Poster paint in black (or any color of your choice). I bought this at National Bookstore.Some brushes of different sizes if you want to vary your strokes. I also bought them at National Boosktore. The red one is a bit pricier than the other one tho both of them are still affordable. I chose vellum board paper because of its thickness and tendency to absorb the paint just enough and not make it look runny unlike with oslo paper.You'll need to add in some water to your poster paint to give it a thinner consistency. It would also give you a water color-ish kind of paint.Here's how I make my strokes.I learned to alternate my stokes from thick to thin just right, to make it look good and a lil legit. Haha.It's not that good but it'll do.I'm lucky to already have a clipboard. Never thought I'd make use of it after my student days. I highly recommend for you to have one since it really helps to keep the paper in place while you do your strokes.Tadah! There's still some room for improvement, but I'm happy with the results for now and will surely try to get better at it!
