I, like many of my friends, wanted to come up with a creative Valentine's Date Night In this year. With a new baby, going out for a romantic dinner is pretty much out of the question. On top of that, we have a really tight budget, so it was important that I stayed under $35.
I planned an entire romantic evening - packed full of different activities and fun things Ryan and I could do together. I headed to Walmart to pick up all the goodies I would need to set up a little Valentine's Day tree decorated with everything for our date night.

I found some fun paper straws, a delicious smelling candle to set the mood, our favorite candies, a cozy blanket, and some popcorn for movie munchies. I also found this limited edition KY Yours + Mine to add a little spice to the evening. This limited edition is awesome because it includes a free movie from Vudu and dinner for two from Plated delivered to your door! I have shared my love for Plated in the past - they basically deliver all the ingredients you need to cook a gourmet dinner at home.

The shelf was almost empty - I got one of the last two. This was a great find since I now had dinner and our movie covered!

Once I got home, I decorated a little "holiday tree" with cute Valentine's Day items and all of our date night supplies! I signed in to Plated and chose the meal I wanted delivered for Valentine's Day. I also went and selected the free movie we would watch. I made Ryan a card and shared all of the details for our evening:
+ Cook Dinner For Two Together // Roasted Chicken Thighs With Cheesy Twice-Baked Potatoes
+ Enjoy A Glass Of Wine Over A Candle Lit Dinner
+ Gather Movie Munchies & Treats
+ Watch "About Time" Snuggled Up Together
+ A Little Dessert & Valentine's Day Romance
I am so excited to have our Valentine's Date Night In this week. I was able to plan an entire night on a very small budget and remove the stress of trying to go out to dinner somewhere! Although this is different from our typical Valentine's Days in the past, I think this will be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to our quiet evening at home.
What are some creative, inexpensive Valentine's Date Night Ideas you have? I'd love for you to share!
