Do You Dress Your Baby in Designer Clothes?

I'll dress Ethan in anything. Absolutely anything, that is, as long as it looks nice. Supermarket prices are always brilliant for some lovely little items and places like H&M and Baby Gap sell some lovely bits and at times have some great deals. But it's designer clothes that are becoming more and more in demand for babies, but is it really true that the more you pay the better quality you get?
Kids designer clothes are lovely, expensive at times, yes, but lovely. But supermarket clothes can be equally as nice, that is if you buy the right ones. For me, it's about being savvy with purchases, and this goes when buying clothing for all ages. Asking questions such as, 'Will this wash well?', 'Will it be worn more than once?', 'Is it something that could fray easily?', 'Am I getting quality for money'. These are all questions that fill my mind when making a purchase.
Would I dress Ethan in designer clothes, I probably would, if, and it's a bit of a big IF.. I could afford it. Which I can't, so I don't. Ralph Lauren boys section is gorgeous and I'd love to get him one of those lovely little polo shirts. But for now, we're okay with Tesco and at the rate he grows I think we'll stick to maybe only pulling out the designer clothes for the special occasions such as a 1st Birthday etc.
