So follow my thought process for a moment, if you will. Here are some thoughts on dreams, blogging, and life.
Earlier this week, I had a wonderful dream. In said dream, I was sent a large envelope for my birthday. Inside were cards, letters, internet postings, and other momentos from my life. I saw birthday cards from my grandmother, MySpace messages from high school, my childhood best friend's 2nd grade handwriting, and crazily-folded-up letters from middle school. I woke up with a whimsical feeling like my memory has just danced through my childhood. It really was a lovely dream.
I wanted to share my dream on the blog, but I had a thought that I often have. "Can I do that on my blog?" I had a seemingly simple answer. Well, it's my blog. I can kind of do whatever I want.
Like I said, I've struggled with this before. I believe a lot of people do, about different aspects of thier lives. When you're a child, your mind is free and open to possibilites. As the weight of the world and the test of time challenges everyone as they grow, it's easy to lose sight of who you really are and what you really want. We get so caught up in life and how we think we're supposed to live it, we forget it belongs solely to ourselves. To put it simply, your life is your life. Technically, you can do whatever you want. Certainly, don't hurt others to live your own bliss, but take control of your life (or maybe loosen your grip on it), and happiness will flood in.
