Diaries Magazine
Ethan,
Seven months old seems like quite a lot. Seven! I've probably said this a million and one times but it feels that it has all gone so quick but yet it also feels like I've known you forever.
FOOD
You've progressed lots since being a tiny newborn. You have three meals a day now, I've just started to cook your food from scratch for you. It's hard to know what to give you food wise, as it is right now with milk, because your reflux is still just as bad as ever and the Doctor seems to think you're better off on a dairy free diet. I'm not sure myself, I'm not sure because it's just so hard to tell. You are less sick on dairy free milk, but it doesn't stop all together. And you don't have any other symptoms of a dairy allergy (well, I don't think that you do), just the reflux. I'm also raising you as vegetarian until you can one day make your own mind up on the matter, so I have that to think about too.
SLEEP
You now sleep in your own bedroom, in your cot. And since you've moved into there, you haven't slept as well as you use to. You will, at times, wake up in the night but usually this is just so you can come into bed with us. You do still sleep right through sometimes. Your bedtime is around 7:30pm, so this gives your Dad and I some time in the evening together. You don't really nap a lot, and you certainly don't appear to have any sort of napping routine. If you decide you want to sleep for half an hour in the day you will, the other day you slept for 3 hours! - I couldn't believe it! Sometimes you may not really nap at all.
SITTING, ROLLING AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTS
You sit very well now, but often will fall to the side. You like to be able to sit on the rug and play with your toys. You interact with your toys and other things very well, it's great for me to watch. You're a smiler and you love to laugh and play, you get excited by being outside and seeing other people. You love attention. You haven't made any steps towards crawling yet, but you are only just 7 months. You roll over all of the time on to your front, but after a short while you begin to cry/moan so that I will roll you back over. I put the cartoons on during the day for you so that you can watch all of the bright colours and you seem to really like Dora the Explorer. We took you swimming again last week and again you loved it! You've started to use a walker and you love having your independence to go wherever you like in it, you know how to use your feet to walk around, in fact, you go so fast you often run! One thing that you don't seem to like anymore is the car, you especially dislike being in the car at night and will regularly scream, which can get pretty stressful!
I'm sure there's lots I've forgotten. You are such a lovely baby, I'm so proud to be your Mum. <3 Love you always. xx
