... I learned from being in a sorority. Those are the truest words I have ever read. Cheryll Duffie, author and speaker, recently sent me an autographed edition of her book. Before I even opened the book, I knew I was going to love it. Cheryll says,
"My goal is to educate, encourage, and empower sorority women of all ages and those considering recruitment with a perspective that focuses on, not just the good, but the TREMENDOUS good, that can come from collegiate fraternities and sororities."
That is exactly what I got from this book. There are chapters about rush, learning to lead, paying your dues, among many other "life lessons that go beyond the parties, the pearls, and the pins." She does an awesome job of relating the lessons learned in a sorority to the real world. She also reminds sorority women that with the great opportunities comes great responsibility, and why members have to do their part to keep a sorority running. This book would make a great gift for incoming pledge classes and big/little reveals. If you want, you can even order sorority-specific editions!
