thought I should share:
http://marc5solas.wordpress.com/2013/02/08/top-10-reasons-our-kids-leave-church/since i would *love* to get in trouble for copyrights, here is the link, after just reading it, i guess he has a point, i mean-i can see where he's going-but it doesn't mean that people should look at Christian teens, start a timer and say-"this is how soon you will leave the church and never come back." I mean, hello?? shouldn't we be trying to encourage them to stay?
I mean, from my perspective (which, i admit, tends to be a frustrated one) It doesn't make sense, it hurts me and it doesn't make sense. For those of you reading this-if you wouldn't mind, i would really appreciate some prayer right now- There's a lot of change trying to happen in my little church...i feel like they're trying to rewrite everything i've known-now, i take that back, okay, not really-well, it's the best way to word it-Jesus is supposed to flip you life upside down and turn you inside and out if you let Him. But this stuff...it's like, no-you shouldn't celebrate Easter because i's not really Easter, so now we're calling it Resurrection sunday? That's fine, but honestly-it makes me wonder...If hey complain that we've adopted Pagan holidays (non christian people) as our own, who says the pagans haven't taken ours and adapted them to non-religious holidays? theoretically didn't we have them first?
it doesn't make sense.
and that bugs me.so...yeah-i'm not sure what to think here, but i know Faith is simple, fresh and Jesus centered-I am not of Jewish heritage, and my whole life (if i have dedicated it to God) should be centered around being like Jesus more and more, not to be His fan (http://www.notafan.com)
-but His follower.so...there's my two cents for the day-
Have a good one :)
