Fabulous Friday

Posted on the 08 October 2011 by Marensmorsels @marentweets

Hey friends. It seems these days I only find time to blog after 10pm.

The good news is that my “Heck Week” is almost over! My Dad was gone all this week on his annual fall camping trip. He left me in charge of the office and getting out a HUGE shipment of printed wooden wall art for an artist down in LA. Over 300 pieces. I’ve never had this much responsibility at the office and I definitely wasn’t as prepared as I needed to be. On Monday we ran out of packaging materials so I had to place an order. Then we ran out again on Thursday and I had to frantically try to get it shipped out that night. Today, it didn’t arrive when it was supposed to so I had to get it directly from the dispatcher.

In the midst of that we had to package and assemble each piece. Then they had to be picked up by Fed-Ex Ground for shipping, which is a special process. I had to complete 2 printing tasks for walk-in customers and take a million orders for next week. Talk about stressful.

Luckily, everything went out today and Dad is coming home on Sunday.

I started off this Fabulous Friday with an awake tea latte with pumpkin spice and 1 1/2 waffles with sunflower seed butter and jam.

It’s so hard to do these big jobs because we run out of space in our tiny office.

Lunch hit right in the midst of CRAZY SHIPPING CRISIS. Our Shipment of bubble wrap, foam corners and bubble corners was supposed to arrive by Golden State Freight by 10:30am. Well, 11:45 rolled around and it still hadn’t come so Dad had to call the Salinas dispatcher from Yosemite. I left the office to pick up some lunch and almost missed the dispatcher personally dropping off our shipment from his mini van.

Seriously, these fries were my drug of choice this afternoon. Thank you fried-food gods!

With my fries I had a 1/2 BLT cobb salad from Wendy’s.

Then Jaemen and I hit the bubble wrap like nobody’s business until 4pm when Jose from Fed-Ex showed up. Yep, me and the Fed-Ex man are now on a first name basis….

There was no time to rest after getting out our massive shipment, which I truly believed wasn’t going to actually happen. I headed to the children’s theater to dress the kids for tonight’s performance. Actually I did have an hour between closing the office and having to start prepping for the show, but I was too worried that if I sat down I wouldn’t make it to the theater to work so I just went straight there. After a detour for froyo…

They had apple pie flavor! Which I paired with plain tart, reeses pieces, and chocolate sprinkles. Today was NOT a day for fruit!!! I needed the REAL DEAL.

Luckily, we had more than enough people to help so I actually got to watch the show! Finally, something works out easily. ;-)

So now I’m home, listening to the Raconteurs while sitting in bed. Dad decided that he owes me big time for this week, and I completely agree! ;-) I’m thinking major adult toys! :-D

Tell me…..

What crazyness happened in your life today?

Oh.my.gosh!

Do you read fashion magazines and which is your favorite?

I love Lucky and In Style.

What are you shopping for this fall and winter?

I’m looking for a jacket that can be casual or a little dressy. Like maybe a short pea coat?.
