Hi all!
I’m going to review a lip pencil today. I don’t use lip pencils much. This is one of the few lip pencils that I own and it’s my favorite out of those. It is none other than Faces Lip Pencil in the shade Sand. Read on to know my likes and dislikes about this product.

What Faces claim about their lip pencils: These pencils glide on effortlessly without any pulling or smudging. The perfect companion to your lipsticks. Available in a wide variety of shades. Look no further if you are looking for chic, professional lip make-up.
Price: Rs.299 for 1.2g
Shelf life: Not mentioned anywhere :-/
Ingredients: Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, Synthetic Beeswax, Cera Carnauba (Copernica Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax), Myristyl Lactate, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax), Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Dimethiconol Behenate, Cera Microcrystalline, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Polyglyceryl-2 Oleate, Ethyl Paraben, Sorbic Acid, Bht, Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Iron Oxides (CI 77499)

The shade is a soft brown with a hint of pink. This lip pencil goes well with all my nude and brown lip colours! It can be easily carried off by all skin tones, goes well with everything and most importantly, it is perfect for office or college.

It is very creamy and glides on smoothly. I have sharpened it twice or thrice so far and it didn't break unnecessarily and the wastage was minimum. It lasts quite well and does it’s job perfectly: prevents bleeding and feathering of lipsticks. I used it only once on its own and I didn't like it much because I found it a bit drying. It lasted well though.

It is quite pigmented and only one or two swipes is required for lining the lips. It does have a mild scent, but its not strong enough to bother me. The shade definitely looks a bit pink but I’m not sure why the camera isn't picking it up. Overall, I love this lip pencil and it is worth buying.
Pros :
  • Goes well with all nude and brown lipsticks, one pencil serves many lip colours :P
  • Creamy and easy to apply
  • Travel friendly, cap is tight.
  • Wastage due to sharpening is minimum
  • Lasts long

Cons:
  • Long list of ingredients (I also hate it because I had to squint at the small letters on the lip pencil and type everything out :P)
  • Sharpening leads to wastage (even though it is minimum, there is still some wastage, wish it came as a retracting pencil)
  • Dries out lips if used as a stand alone lip color.

Final Word : An excellent lip pencil at an affordable price. It scores well in all aspects like pigmentation, ease of application, staying power etc., Get it, you won’t be disappointed!
