Father’s Day is soon approaching and what will you get the man in your life? How about some fabulous and funky socks?
These socks are a bit different. Why do you ask? Well they not only are bright and colourful, they also help charities around Australia.
Soxy Beast (just love the name) teams up with a different artist each month and that artist picks a charity to support, 10% of each sale goes directly to that charity. How cool is that!

For the month of August and just in time for Father’s Day, Soxy Beast have teamed up with Melbourne based artist, Lindsay Blamey. You might know Lindsay from Channel Nine’s “The Block”. He is known for his contemporary abstract and fine art photographic works.
Lindsay’s charity of choice is the national youth mental health foundation known as headspace Collingwood. The foundation aims to help young people who are going through a tough time – get their lives back on track.
Headspace Collingwood is currently raising funds to train a new team member, Birdie the therapy dog. Birdie helps with a new therapy technique to help treat youth with mental health issues.
Birdie the Labradoodle. Such a cutie and ready to help the young people at headspace Collingwood.
So how can you help out?
Soxy Beast have a great system in place. You can pay a subscription each month and receive the latest design in the mail. Each pair of socks is unique and designed by a different artist.
Subscriptions to Soxy Beast start at just $15 per month with free shipping. Subscription for three months ($60), six months ($105) and twelve months ($180) are also available – the longer you subscribe, the more you save.
Every month Soxy Beast subscribers receive a new pair of bold, comfortable socks designed and made right here in Australia using the most high-tech computer knitting wizardry science has ever conceived.
Ten percent of revenue from all Soxy Beast subscriptions during the month of August (Father’s Day 2015) will be donated to headspace Collingwood to provide further training for Birdie the therapy dog.
You can also just purchase one pair of socks without a subscription. If you are a lady and fancy the fun, colourful socks you can purchase as well. They are not just for men. So keep that in mind if you love the style and have to have a pair as well! Just make sure that you select either dude or chick from the size pull down menu.

More about headspace Collingwood
Headspace is the national Mental Health Foundation that provides early intervention mental health services for clients aged 12-25 year olds.
Headspace is designed to help youth and their families get the help they need. This is covered in four core areas:
- Physical Health
- Work and study support
- Mental Health
- Alcohol and other drug services
A traditional clinical approach can be confronting for headspace clients. By engaging a therapy dog, staff at headspace Collingwood can better connect with young people who come to them seeking help with mental health issues.
Many of headspace Collingwood’s clients come from home environments where owning a pet isn’t possible, access to the pup has served as a draw to encourage continued visits to the centre, as well as provide learning opportunities about responsibility and care.
While Birdie has completed some basic obedience training, headspace wants to further work with the one year old labradoodle to provide more therapy opportunities for the youth that visit the foundation.
Appreciating Dad’s new socks.
I am definitely going to get hubby a pair of these snazzy socks and the benefit is that it helps others at the same time.
Disclaimer: I was emailed about Soxy Beast and their great work they do with charities. I have posted to create awareness of the company and the great things they are doing with helping people in need throughout Australia. It is just a lovely way to give back to the community, and to also give to others with a gift of some bright and happy socks. This is not a sponsored post and no payment has occurred.
Do you love to buy products that also donate money to a good cause. I like to. What are some of the companies that give to charity as well? Let us know.
Soxy Beast’s Father’s Day wrapping. How clever and creative. You can color it in or give it to the kids.
