A little over a week ago I had the honor to be interviewed by PostPlanner.com. I was included in a group of Social Media marketing experts and we answered the question, “What is the future of Social Media marketing in 2014″. As we approach the next year in all of our lives, this is a great time to think about what is next for you? The New Year always is one of my favorite seasons. It’s a time of reflection on the past and new beginnings into the future.
In this interview I spoke about how to be real and how to stand out in a noisy world. They used a small quote from my full interview but I’m going to share more information with you, today!
Everyone around you is now becoming more accepting of Social Media. More are more active on Facebook, Twitter has become mainstream and online video community such as YouTube are reinventing the way we create, consume & share our visual content. The more we spend time on Social Media, this is affecting those who sell online. If you’re in business that sells something, your customers have allowed their lives to become more transparent online and now this means you should let your brand become transparent as well. I believe those who are transparent in 2014 will win big because this build trust with consumers.
Another aspect to creating transparency in your Social Media is who around you is currently pushing out content you’re willing to share? The more active the Social Media landscape becomes, interesting content that is good enough to be shared must be unique and different. Entrepreneurs must now take time to follow what is popular and how the public respond to it. When more of us on Social Media are real and put out actual lives on the internet, it means we must be critically engaging with our listeners to get their share. Getting a share or a “Like” is a really big deal for some people to do for you. Make sure you’re following current events and responding to how others are posting about. Last week I mentioned the brilliance behind Oreo posting a creative image during the Super Bowl power outage. It was shared a ton because it was engaging.
