In my workplace, random acts of kindness are common practice. Over the years I have found bottles of wine, flowers, chocolates little notes- just because. It's incredibly uplifting when these things happen and even receiving a thank you card from students make my day. It's something I'm guilty of not doing enough and something I must do more of.
Not only is it valentine’s day on the 14th and the national month of Yorkshire Puddings! But February is also globally known as kindness month. Let’s face it we can all be a little bit kinder to others, especially on these cold and dark winter days. Bring some joy into a stranger’s life and pay back some of the kindness you have received in life. It does not need to cost you a penny! Bingo experts Paddy Power have created a ‘Kindness Bingo’ game. You can simply choose a random act of kindness every day. Give it a go.
So in light that February is kindness month I will be printing off this bingo sheet and will be placing it in our staff room and hopefully encourage others to get involved. Whilst I may not be able to transform a strangers life with a generous cash gift like you hear about on social media, I can offer gratitude, a cup of coffee, putting a neighbours bin out with ease.
Darcie has also expressed interest in getting involved and has informed me she wants to get baking for her class because everyone likes cake! I can't disagree with her, so it looks like we will be baking this half term.
Will you be taking part in kindness month? Have you been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness?
