At only 15 weeks in, I am already in perpetual awe of what this body of mine is capable of. My belly popped one day (a few weeks ago, actually) and seemingly never stopped. I feel like I can see a measurable growth every day, and it just seems so fast. At this rate, I don't even want to think of how big I'll be in 6 months. That's actually a lie- I think about it all of the time. Because the thing is, I'm kind of excited to see where this pregnancy takes my body. I'm really truly fascinated by woman's ability morph into a transformative baby oven and to create and grow life. And, truth be told, I kind of love being pregnant. Of course it helps that somehow, with both of my pregnancies, I curtailed the dreaded morning sickness (I had just a hint of it this time for a week or so, and to all of you ladies who got it bad: bless you bless you bless you!). Last time around, I was a bit fearful of the weight gain and the stretch marks and the permanent changes that come with giving birth. But this time, I've not an ounce of fear. Every morning I wake up and look in the mirror, and I realize how confident, beautiful, and strong this little baby growing in my rounded belly is making me feel. Wherever this pregnancy takes me and whatever changes it brings, I know that it is more than worth it. I know now how quickly these 10 months will go by, and I am so grateful to be on this journey once again.
