Find A Little Spark of Laughter

Find A Little Spark of Laughter "There's nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons." ― Stephen Chbosky

I love love love to laugh. I revel in it. Without laughter, my life would be dull, tedious and incomplete. This is why I've always loved comedies. I remember once when my son was young going to the movies to see comedian Sinbad's, Houseguest. I laughed hysterically and uproariously so long throughout the film that my embarrassed teenager eased out of the seat by me and moved himself several rows back.

"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person." ―Audrey Hepburn

Laughing helps you to let go, release, unwind. It lets you forget yourself. It helps lighten things up, eases tension. Living in a heavy world as we do these days, besieged by bad news and burdened by problems, it's important to have a daily bit of laughter to help one keep things in perspective.

Aside from intelligence, the thing I've always found most attractive in a person is the ability to make me laugh. Guffaw. Hoot. Howl. Find my funny-bone and I'm all yours. When the day takes a nose dive, I can always find my way back to base, if someone can make me laugh.

"If you don't learn to laugh at life it'll surely kill you, that I know."

― Brom, The Child Thief

With the gloom spreading across the planet, laughter is a light. It's a hook reaching out to pull us back from misery, from depression, from yielding to helplessness. It won't fix everything, but it will shake up your insides and help you remember that you are alive. And that the spark of life within you is worth grasping and remembering you had a mission when you embarked upon this journey.

Laughter is a way of remembering yourself, of lifting your spirit, of being stronger than the pull of pain, of darkness, of defeat. It is life's little way of reminding us to see the glass half full. It is our deep breath that helps us cough up the hope that the surrounding darkness might have caused us to choke on.

If you're in need of some upliftment during these beastly times, find your funnybone. Look for the light in the darkness. Lift your vibe by searching deliberately for something so ridiculous that you can't help but let go.

Laugh. Find something to break up the monotony of murkiness that threatens to pull us into the depths of hopelessness. Let your laughter ring out and across the land. It may be the very thing that helps someone else find his/her way back to life, to love.

Laughter is Love's way of saying, "Lighten up!"

And...laughter is the best medicine.

Have you had your laugh today?
