Andy Levine, known professionally as John Nebraska, recently pried himself out of NYC and made his way south to Asheville, NC. Andy spent the past 30 years working in a variety of media as a professional illustrator, painter and teacher. His work has been featured in publications such as Forbes, The NY Times, The Washington Post and many more.
Andy's work successfully overlaps illustration and fine art. His intuitive and playful paintings reflect his previous career, a life long love of art and his new home nestled in majestic mountains.

“I’ve drawn pictures since I was six years old and I still feel like I’m just getting started. I’ve been making art for the past three years surrounded by the sweet smells and sounds of the woods in Asheville, North Carolina. I’ve illustrated for over thirty years and it’s from that profession that I’ve learned to do what I do today. My art? I want to make it beautiful. I want to make well crafted art that has more to see every time one looks at it. That’s about it. I would love if my paintings find a spot where people would be happy to see them everyday. I sell art from my website and galleries and I’m reopening the Astoria Art Center in Asheville.”
