Fly on by Friday – Anything Goes Linky – Bowral Day Tripping

Posted on the 31 May 2013 by Meltingmoments

This week, Dora and I joined some mums and bubs from Mother’s Group and took a day trip to Bowral in the Sutherland Highlands. It’s not far from Sydney but when you arrive, you feel like you’re so far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The auburn trees line the streets, the air is crisp and there’s lots of wide open spaces for little people to run around in.

We started the day at a cute enclosed park next to the Bradman Museum. The park is cricket themed and has some fun features. Then we headed to the local pub which happened to have a playroom for the kids (most important) and a good selection of food.

A trip to Bowral would not have been complete without a wander around the lovely artsy shops. The toy shop is my favorite to visit. Amazingly, I didn’t buy any toys! I have to tell myself that Dora has more toys than she needs already.

After a stroll around the shops, we headed to a nice little cafe that made good coffee and scrumptious cakes. I ordered a passionfruit-chocolate macaron (the French-style biscuit pronounced mac-a-RON) and was grumpily corrected ‘It’s a macaroon.’ Ah, that old debate.  It tasted good no matter how you pronounce it!

It was such a beautiful Autumn day. I’m looking forward to next year’s trip already!
