Fly on by Friday – What a Day!

eCard

This eCard sums up my day on Wednesday. I wasn’t feeling well and had a medical appointment to go to. Dora wanted to play with her new bubble gun while I was in the shower. My shower ended abruptly when I couldn’t listen to her cries for bubbles any longer. She was still in her pjs. She didn’t want to be undressed. She didn’t was to be dressed. She didn’t want shoes on. She didn’t want her hair done. “No, I don’t wike it!” was her standard response. Eventually, half dressed myself, I managed to get her clothed. I finished getting myself ready and grabbed all necessary requirements for her morning stay with her nan.

I scooped her up as she resisted to leave the house. Managed to get her in her car seat and took off being mindful of how close I was pushing it with time.

I got to mum’s and felt terrible that I had to quickly leave a barefooted, scraggly haired grumpy toddler with her.

“Plenty of time,” I had thought driving into the underground council carpark… but as I turned the first corner, there was car after car stopped waiting for spots too. With 10 minutes to spare, I was frantically doing laps trying to find a spot.

“Should I drive around and hope for the best or stand still and wait for someone to come this way who’s leaving?” I tried both, to no avail.

10am. Appointment time. I started biting my nails. I reached for my phone to call and explain my tardiness but ‘SOS ONLY’ kindly graced my screen. Oh dear.

At 10.20am I drove out of the underground car park and drove around the local streets. Nothing. No empty spaces to be seen. My last option was the $10 per hour parking station up the street. I headed there.

My phone beeped. ’1 new voicemail!’ I had phone service again.

I found a parking spot in the big expensive parking station and checked my message.

“Hello, you have an appointment with us today at 10am. It’s now 10.21 so you’ll need to reschedule another appointment.”

Argh!!

I ran up to the building where my appointment was and tried my luck at explaining my rough morning with the hope they’d fit me in. Nope. Of course, I totally understood.

I rescheduled (to today, hence the late post) and slunk away. When I got to mum’s she made me lunch and empathised.

Next time I won’t be a tight @rse and I’ll head straight to the big parking station!

How was your week? TGIF!

Lizzy at The Muddle-Headed Mamma shared these fantastic photos of her book loving boy! Aren’t they great? I hope Dora finds a passion for books as she gets older!
