Last week they kindly sent me a couple of typically British products to review: some Tetley Tea and some Jaffa Cakes.
Now I am one of the few British people that actually doesn't drink tea! I often get some strange looks when I tell people this, however Mr Review Addict loves the stuff so once again he has been assisting in his role as Hot Drinks Consultant and has been sampling these Tetley Tea One Cup tea bags.
Tetley is probably one of our best loved tea brands in the UK, partly I am sure, due to the cute little Tetley Tea folk characters. Tetley began in Yorkshire and has been around since 1837 so they must be doing something right! These One Cup bags are designed to be just the right for making tea in a cup rather than a teapot. Mr Review Addict never uses a teapot anyway and drinks his tea milky with 1 sugar. He said that he really enjoyed the Tetley tea and it's as good as his usual brand.
British Shop Aboard sell this box of 76 tea bags for £3.09 but also have lots of other tea from Tetley and other brands available.
Now Jaffa Cakes I do like so I don't need Mr Review Addict's help to review these, although I may use them as bribes because he is partial to 1 or 2 of these, especially with a cup of tea!
These are the original Jaffa Cakes and are made by McVities. They are instantly recognisable in their familiar blue and orange packaging and are a really popular snack in the UK. A Jaffa Cake is somewhere between a biscuit and a cake. The base is a cakey sponge and then they have a layer of orange flavoured jelly and then a dark chocolate coating. They taste delicious and are only 46 calories per biscuit with just 1g of fat so you can eat them without feeling too guilty.
This box of 12 Jaffa Cakes is available from British Shop Abroad for £1.89 but they also do a 24 pack and a massive 36 pack.
