Freedom for My People, #835

Free at last!  Free at last!  I am free at last!

Yes, that is correct.  I am free, because my son is past his nasty illness that forced us to stay within the confines of our home all weekend long.  I swear — I was like a hermit.  I got so much done, but yet, I couldn’t get anything done.  He was so needy.  It was all understandable.  The kid had a 103 degree fever.

Thank goodness we are past it.  He’ll take it easy today and will get some good fresh air and sunshine on a Veteran’s Day “hike” (more like a nature walk).  It is nice to have our freedom back.

It is interesting that I am appreciating the feeling of freedom on Veteran’s Day.  My freedom is small potatoes compared to the freedom our Vets have fought for, but it is still a perfect feeling to be having for them.  Thank you, Vets, for protecting us, keeping us out of harm’s way and especially for ensuring that we live in a free society.

My song of the day is one that I remember from the U2 movie, “Rattle & Hum.”  The U2 guys were walking down a street and listening in on a street musician singing a heart-felt song.  It is so soulful and is the perfect song for this day.  Click HERE to listen to Morther Mojo sing his powerful “Freedom For My People,” and let’s all be thankful for our freedom today, because without freedom, we have nothing.
