The idea behind it is that there's nothing quite like having dinner with a couple of your friends — just hanging out, relaxing, and having a good time. So Emmy invited myself and a couple of other bloggers over to a "virtual dinner." And as a way to get to know us a bit better, here's a peek into our "evening"...
We all arrived at Emmy's apartment, greeted by her dog bandit. Food is on the table, so we get to it right away, pouring some wine and enjoy conversation.
Sandy: Well, I am not going to lie, my brain is not working 100% today. Soooo, I Googled some ice breakers and picked some of my favorites so here I go...
- If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? (For the rest of this conversation, check out Sandy's blog.)
- Name one thing you really like about yourself. (For the rest of this conversation, check out Emmy's blog.)
- What is one thing you are looking forward to for summer? (In light of where I live getting warmer this week.)
Emmy: I'm looking forward to the warmth, too. Hopefully we don't have the long, crazy, hot summer we had last year, but I'm ready for the sunshine. Also, summer is my fun/crazy time of year. I'm exhausted and want to die by August, but June and July are a blast!
Me: The thing I'm looking forward to most about summer is the clothes. I love sundresses and sandals and fun jewelry and bright colors. And I'm trying really hard to get in shape right now, so I'm hoping that by summer I've lost 15-20 pounds and feel fabulous in my sundresses and maybe...shock...a swimsuit! :)
Emmy: YES FOR SUMMER CLOTHES! My favorite season for clothes is fall, but I've been eyeing some cute spring/summer outfits on Pinterest and I'm getting excited.
Me: I do love me some boots and scarves and sweater,s but there is nothing in the world like a cute sundress. I literally own about 20 of them. And I've already seen six or seven more in stores that I want to add to my collection. It's entirely possible that by the end of the summer I will have enough sundresses that I could wear a different one every single day for a month (or longer) and never repeat myself. Right now I can do that with a combination of my dresses and skirts, but I'm close with just the dresses. People think I'm a little crazy, but I just love them so much.
Emmy: I'm obsessed with sundresses lately, too! Everywhere I look, I find a dress I want. UGH. If only my wallet had more money. Lol.
Sandy: I am really excited about shopping for cute sundresses and wedges and sandals! I am overall excited about this for two reasons. My daughter is old enough I can now function like a lady in a dress, and I don't have any clothes that fit me for summer and I hardly have dresses. Dilemma! Clothes cost money! But every now and then I brave the thrift store and find a prize.
The rest of the evening we talked about our traveling adventures, places we want to go, and some of the traits we like about ourselves. As the night wrapped up, it was like three old friends hanging out.
Happy Friday, everyone!
