Hi folks, and happy Friday!
It’s been an amazing first week back at school and first week back at our house – and I’ve been productive beyond belief. I never expected my 101 in 1001 list to change my outlook so much, and I’ve got some seriously big projects in the works! So excited to see how all of these shape up!
One of my goals was to pare down the number of catalogs I receive – there’s no point in letting a company waste paper and my trash space if a catalog goes straight from my mailbox to the bin. So this week, I first decided which catalogs I wanted to keep receiving {Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Eddie Bauer, LL Bean, Chef’s, and Williams-Sonoma}. I chose these because 1) I actually shop from them or 2) they really represent my personal style and give me great ideas!
Everything else got listed on Catalog Choice. This site lets you unsubscribe from all the catalogs that you don’t want cluttering your life. Another one of my 101 in 1001 accomplished! Time to kick that money into savings. Oh, and why am I kicking in as much as I am to savings? I want to make sure that I don’t just half-ass my goals here. I want some incentive to do it right.
Not only am I going green on the catalogs, but I’m going green for Friday’s Fancies – this week, we’re paying tribute to Pantone’s color of the year: emerald! I love the bright pop of green – and it’s an especially fun color to wear as a redhead. Here’s an ensemble I’d like to sport around the city:
Halston Heritage sleeveless blouse / Coat / Filippa K / Clarks knee high leather boots / Simply vera wang bag / GALA teardrop earrings
I love the crisp styling of the overcoat and the mixture of gray and green here. It needs a little something to zap up the color, so just imagine yourself up some red hair to complete the ensemble
