However - I don't usually merge my love of idle celebrity chit-chat and my blogging hobby - but when I read last week that Gwyneth Paltrow had been voted the Worlds Most Beautiful Woman by People magazine, I decided I needed to find out what my readers thought about it!
Gwyneth Paltrow has always been someone who has annoyed me - for many reasons.
Her acting ability isn't the best for a start - sure she's been in some decent films and she's even been almost good in some roles - but most of the time, she is lacklustre at best in my personal opinion.
Secondly - her husband is probably in my All Time Top 5 of the Planets Most Annoying People (Perhaps a Friday Fives post for another time!) - and so by association, I dislike her.
Thirdly - she called her kid Apple.
And the final reason I dislike her? Her ridiculous cookbook escapade (in which she preaches on how we all need to "nourish the inner aspect"....which, according to said cookbook, would cost a family $300 a day), quotes such as "I am who I am, I can't be someone who earns $25,000 a year" or "I would rather die than feed my kids Cup-a-Soup", and how the way that she tries to model herself as some kind of earth mother lifestyle guru just doesn't gel well with her appearance in throwaway, meaningless, mega-bucks-earning blockbuster movies such as Iron Man 3.
So yes - in short, I'm not a Gwyneth Paltrow fan.
But this is not the reason that I'm surprised to her chosen as the Worlds Most Beautiful woman.
Personally, she just doesn't strike me as being particularly attractive.
She's very tall, very slender, very elk-like, and very blonde haired and blue eyed - yes. But her features seem sharp to me and I can think of a million women who are prominent in todays society who I would class as more beautiful than Gwyneth Paltrow.
It was the same story with last years FHM Top 100 Hottest Females - to read that Tulisa Contostavlos was voted number 1 was a real shocker!! I'd love to know what people base their votes on?!
So for this weeks Friday Fives post, I'm sharing with you my own choices for Worlds Most Beautiful Woman - just from the pics alone, to my eyes these women are clearly a million times more aesthetically pleasing AND talented than Gwyneth and have bags more natural beauty than Tulisa....

Of course - beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and what is beautiful to me, may be the next person's idea of hideous.
